Annual 4th of July Parade, BBQ and Raffle

The Historic Highlands’ 4th of July Celebration takes place every July 4th at The Triangle (@Howard and Chester). Traditionally, the celebration begins at 11AM with a parade of our neighbors who have decorated their bikes, wagons, dogs or themselves. At the conclusion of the parade, we have a BBQ. Food, tables, chairs, napkins, utensils and drinks are provided by the HHNA board. This is a great time to grab a table, sit next to a stranger who also lives in the neighborhood, introduce yourself and make a new friend.

HOME TOURS

Take a step back in time. Come and learn about the history and architectural detail of our Historic Highlands homes or get some remodeling ideas! Grab a refreshment at a refreshment booth provided by HHNA.  All proceeds from our home tours go back into the community and neighborhood.  Purchase your tickets here via Eventbrite.

Wine Social

Traditionally, held at The Triangle on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday early evening. Tables are provided by HHNA. Bring your own bottle of wine to share with a neighbor. Bring an appetizer. If you’re interested in hosting a wine social let us know and we will get the word out.

Altadena Historic Highlands Proposal

Join us in our efforts to save our Altadena historic homes and neighborhood as we work toward historic district approval!

Historic Highlands neighborhood is one neighborhood within two distinct legal boundaries. With over 700 homes, the majority of our Historic Highlands neighborhood resides within the City of Pasadena as the designated Historic Highlands Landmark District (2008). The remaining 150 homes reside outside of Pasadena in the unincorporated section of Los Angeles County called Altadena. 72 of the 150 Altadena section homes are currently pursuing historic district designation with LA County.

If approved by the LA County Board of Supervisors in late 2023, the proposed historic district will be called Altadena Historic Highlands. It will become the first historic district in unincorporated LA County.

We have the support of the following:

- LA County Landmarks and Records Commission
- LA County Planning
- Altadena Heritage
- LA Conservancy
- Historic Highlands Neighborhood Association
